LeisureSeptember 10th, 2005
Life just doesn't get much better than this.
Adam's birthdaySeptember 10th, 2005
Expecting a quiet dinner with Serena, Adam was completely surprised when he found a table full of friends there to celebrate his 24th.
![]() Weekend getaway to Margaret RiverSeptember 6th, 2005
When you see a big red bull on the side of the road what do you do? Well you go stand in its drink of course.
![]() Son of a bitch - I'm sick of these dolphins. ![]() When sipping a fine port it is crucial that you do so from a little cup with a sippy straw. ![]() Ummm...don't ask. ![]() These raging waters claimed the lives of three unmonitored children in the time we were standing there. ![]() Why go home with your tour bus when you can get dropped off at yet another winery? A few of us squeeze in 11 more tastings before this winery closed. ![]() And the frosted doughnut becomes high priced art - Homer would be so proud. ![]() You really wouldn't want to fall in here as massive amounts of water flow through these canals - a truly unreal sight. ![]() One look?!? One look!?! ![]() Waves regularly sweep young children off of this bridge - not really. ![]() Australia is home to a large number of signs and being the diligent driver he is, Adam makes an effort to obey all of them.
BreaktimeSeptember 6th, 2005
It's funny cause it's true - right?
![]() A model...idiot. ![]() Byron BaySeptember 6th, 2005
If you can surf through piers I guess you can surf around shipwrecks and rocks.
![]() An early morning breakfast before our super suck ass drive to Sydney. ![]() Currumbin Wildlife SanctuaryAugust 27th, 2005
Rough night?
![]() Aren't they so cute...and the Koala too. ![]() Apparently the wildlife sanctuary doesn't potty train their koalas. ![]() Watch carefully as the female shows interest - Adam reads the tell tale signs... ![]() The relationship quickly evolves... ![]() But little does he know that when he wakes up in the morning he's gonna have a joey of his own. Watch out boys and girls, this is what happens when you drink too much in Australia. ![]() Mortified by his date from the night before, Adam makes a feeble attempt at suicide - too bad the train isn't much bigger than a red wagon. ![]() Very very dangerous. ![]() Wouldn't want to run into him in the wild - 12 meters long and still growing. ![]() Adam figures out that what he hit wasn't really a porcupine. ![]() Even blue chicks need love too. ![]() Fraser IslandAugust 26th, 2005
We were lucky enough to be one of the very few people that get to see this island in the rain - at least that's how our tour guide explained it to us. Captain Kangaroo ('Captain' to his friends) provided the trip highlights, getting our 4WD bus stuck in the sand. For those unaware, Fraser Island is made entirely of sand.
Yet another tropical beach location - snowboarding gear has been clutch! ![]() If you're a child or a midget, watch out cause they'll 'have a go'. ![]() We love the beach! ![]() Supposedly Eli Creek is 34C - In reality it was about 20C but that doesn't stop Adam from wading down it - what a rockstar. ![]() Remind me to send him a correspondence...on the good stock. ![]() Another appearance of Team Zisou on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific. ![]() Is that God? ![]() The calm lasted long enough to take this photo and then all hell broke loose, pouring down rain for the rest of our hike. ![]() It doesn't look that high. ![]() But it really is! ![]() Yet another beautiful lake that we were lucky to see in the rain. Supposedly the colors are magnificent in the sunlight, but we probably wouldn't notice anyways as we're preoccupied with our beers. ![]() We discover a new specimen - cool chicks from Alabama. ![]() Our ship crashed on the way to the island - it's incredible how fast it deteriorated. ![]() Full coverageAugust 24th, 2005
So when you get raped by the car rental company, what do you do? Well if you're Adam - you hit a porcupine. Actually, it's rather incredible given that a tire is only 6 inches wide and the little critter couldn't have been bigger than 6 or 7 inches. I don't think he could do it again if he tried.
Adam's driving... ![]() Cruising the Whitsunday IslandsAugust 24th, 2005
This had to have been the greatest thing we've ever done. Of the hundreds of pictures of these incredible sites, we've tried to select a few that capture the remarkable beauty of the beaches, ocean, and islands. Three days and two nights is hardly enough time for this place and it's surely the first we'll revisit.
Our majestic vessel - Southern Cross - 1974 America's Cup Boat ![]() Our route through the islands had us sleeping at Tongue Bay and South White Haven Beach. We snorkled at Maureens Cove, Windy Beach, and Dumbell Island. And we discovered the most incredible beach - Whitehaven Beach. ![]() Our skipper, Luke and myself cruising out of Arlie Beach - unsure of what to expect from our trip. ![]() Vacations aren't just about sleep and drinking beer - though this one has been alot about the former. With only a skipper and one deckhand, we had to help out a bit to get this boat going. ![]() Awe struck by the incredible beauty of this place. ![]() Magnum PI visits the Whitsundays. ![]() We're on the top of the world - a beer and the most incredible beach imaginable...what else could anyone ask for? ![]() There's nothing more beautiful than a man and his beer - unless this man is Adam - and he is looking out at Whitehaven Beach. ![]() This is the view off the left side of the lookout - you see one of the seventy-four Whitsunday islands in the distance and the beach where we spent the morning playing frisbee and swimming with Sting Rays. ![]() Whitehaven beach wraps down the coast behind the inlet to the bay. ![]() Various beaches ring this bay with beautiful water, powder white sand beaches, and natural wildlife. ![]() A local fisherman tries to explain the intricacies of fishing off these beaches and not being eaten by sharks - oh wait...that's just Adam skipping rocks. ![]() We discover how incredible sunsets from the water are. ![]() Why limit yourself to one picture of this awe inspiring sight? ![]() The grand finale. ![]() Touring Cape TribulationAugust 18th, 2005
The only place in the world where four natural wonders meet - the rain forest, the great barrier reef, and us!
![]() Always the consummate rockstar. ![]() Want to go to my island? ![]() Moisture - the essence of wetness. ![]() Ralph Macio eat your heart out. ![]() Kangaroo Jack. ![]() Mmmmmm...I like carrots. ![]() It's well past beer'oclock and it's not a walk in the rainforest without one. ![]() An overexcited Tarzan makes an attempt to swoop on my beer. ![]() Pillow talk with the ant after licking its backside. ![]() They say he's called Gummy...cause he has no teeth... ![]() Diving the Great Barrier Reef in CairnsAugust 17th, 2005
Taking in some sun in between dives at Tropos on Norman Reef.
![]() Magnum making an appearance. ![]() Our dive site for the afternoon. ![]() Remind me to send him a red cap and speedo. ![]() Jeaque ain't got nothin on this. ![]() Adam finding Nemo. ![]() Partying in MelbourneAugust 17th, 2005
The lovely city of Melbourne.
![]() Partying it up with Christina. ![]() Random rooftops with cool Swedes. ![]() Two of our three Norwegian hosts - Miriam and Elena. ![]() Wonderful MelbourneAugust 10th, 2005
Enjoying the warm Australian climate here at St Kilda beach in Melbourne...
![]() The lovely white sand beaches... ![]() And its crystal clear waters. ![]() Adam's so excited he can barely contain himself (censored). Enjoying the native lifestyles and all that Melbourne has to offer...yummy. ![]() Curry - the flavor of life. ![]() We're in MelbourneAugust 10th, 2005
We've left Sydney for colder climates in Melbourne. There really should be snow for how cold it is here.
SydneyAugust 10th, 2005
Here we are at the Sydney Opera House. This is what happens when you ask someone to take a picture - Oh, did you want the Opera House in that photo? Sorry...
![]() The Sydney Harbor Bridge - You can climb this for 185 Australian Dollars but why spend that much on anything other than partying?
I made it to AustraliaAugust 7th, 2005
We're here in Sydney for a few days then off to Melbourne. After a week there, we'll be headed up to Cairns where we're going to rent a car and spend the following two weeks driving back down to Sydney. After that we fly to the west coast for a few weeks in Perth and Freemantle.
